In addition to the continuous monitoring carried out by the command and control centre, the facilities of UMinho have several safety mechanisms and systems, namely:
- A cabinet with firefighting equipment containing a helmet, a Nomex flame resistant jacket, flame resistant gloves and a filter mask.
- A cabinet with equipment for the evacuation team containing reflective vests, flashlight for ATEX environments and evacuation confirmation stickers.
- A rescue vehicle properly equipped with foam equipment, fire hoses and fire nozzles.
- Means of first intervention, namely fire blankets, extinguishers, fire hydrants.
