In order to prevent and act quickly in case of a possible emergency, UMinho has elements that guarantee a quick response to these situations. ​​
 
The people that are part of the internal emergency response team actually work for UMinho* and the security company. These workers provide assistance in case of emergency situations and they have been trained in:

​• Providing first aid assistance. 

• Evaluating and coordinating an emergency situation. 

• Evacuating the occupants from UMinho’s facilities, if necessary. 

• Activate the alarm and communicate with work colleges and/or emergency services.
